It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

Whenever I read God's word, God is promising to do something with it in and through my life. Just as the flowers of the field don't see the immediate effects of the rain on it's growth, so I might not see the immediate effects of God's word in my life. But He is always doing something when I open the word - causing me to bud and flourish in time.
